Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), a non-intrusive geophysical method used to image the subsurface. The deployed antenna frequency may range from low to high depending on the targeted feature. Low frequency antennas travel deeper and have low resolution while high frequency antennas obtain reflections from shallow depths and have high resolution.
GeoMAX Surveys can help clients with:
Concrete and Rebar Inspection
Using high-frequency GPR, we can locate rebar, post tension cables, and metallic and non-metallic conduits embedded within concrete . The embedded features within the concrete will be marked visibly on the work surface. This will help clients conduct safe and efficient core drilling that will preserve the integrity of the structure and avoid accident or delay. We can also determine the slab thickness and cover depth to targets.
Use of GPR prior to construction/engineering/environmental work such as turbine cold joints repair, electrical outfitting, plumbing, drain installation will significantly increase the success of that project.
Pavement Thickness Estimation
Determination of pavement thickness using GPR is sometimes very important prior to civil engineering work. It helps provide vital information to the engineers. The GPR data usually reveal parts of roads or roads that require special attention.
Detection of Sinkhole and Void
We use cutting edge technology to carry out all our survey works. Our experienced operators/qualified geophysicists can locate sinkholes and voids hidden below concrete, asphalt surfaces and ground surface.
Location of Underground Utilities
GPR can be used to determine the exact location and depth of underground utility services such as gas mains, water mains, foul sewer, surface water, electrical cables, telecom cables and so on.
